Empowering Families. Nurturing the Future.

Every child deserves a healthy start. The Healthy Beginnings Endowment Fund at Concord Hospital Trust is dedicated to supporting mothers, children, and young families throughout our community.

Founded in 1996 by Dr. Oglesby Young, this fund ensures that when new parents leave The Family Place at Concord Hospital, they have the resources, education, and community support they need to raise healthy, happy children.

Our Impact

Since its inception, the Healthy Beginnings Endowment has distributed more than $1.1 million to local non-profits. We focus on the critical years from birth to age five, funding programs that:

  • Enhance maternal and women’s health;
  • Provide parenting education and support groups;
  • Promote healthy childhood development;
  • Coordinate local health services to ensure no family falls through the cracks.

Recent Community Grants

This year, we awarded $79,879 to three organizations making a difference.

  • Archways: Supporting parenting education and family support services.
  • Concord School District (The Family Center): Funding play-based learning and parent resources.
  • White Birch Community Center: Providing year-round education for caregivers of children ages 0-5.

  • Serve children from birth to age five;
  • Operate within Concord Hospital Health System’s primary service area;
