Annual Giving

Your annual gift to support Concord Hospital means quality health care close to home for you, your family, and our whole community. You have many ways to show your support for our mission. We are thankful that you make a gift once a year.

How Your Gift Makes a Difference

You can ask us to use your annual gift where it is needed most, in an area you care deeply about, or for ongoing priorities like:

  • Care for the low-income and those without insurance or not enough insurance;
  • New or enhanced medical equipment and technology;
  • Community health and wellness programs;
  • Ongoing education to ensure highly trained physicians, nurses, and healthcare workers;
  • Special support for people with chronic health conditions;
  • Programs to respond to identified community health needs.

Make your annual support last forever by including us in your will or trust and give a gift that will be used each year, every year, forever to benefit Concord Hospital. Endowing your annual gift allows you to play an enduring role in fulfilling Concord Hospital Health System's charitable mission, while providing us with a steady, reliable source of income that the health system can use to meet the most urgent healthcare needs in the communities it serves.

Endow Your Annual Gift

Concord Hospital Health System manages the endowed gift; a fixed portion of your gift is spent annually, as determined by our endowment spending policy, and the health system reinvests the remainder.

Take, for example, an annual gift of $1,500. How much would it take to endow that gift so we could receive that amount indefinitely to support the Hospital? If, say, the Trust’s policy for spending endowment income is 5% annually, simply divide the annual gift amount, $1,500, by 5%, and you get $30,000. By making a $30,000 endowment gift, the $1,500 annual gift continues indefinitely.

If your annual gift is:  You can make it a “forever gift” with:
$25 $500
$50 $1,000
$100 $2,000
$500 $10,000
$1,000 $20,000
$1,500 $30,000
$2,500 $50,000
$5,000 $100,000

Applying the above principle to any given situation, we see that, at a 5% endowment spending rate, twenty times an annual gift amount equals a perpetual gift endowment. If your “forever gift” is $25,000 or more, you could even name the fund after a loved one or someone you want to honor or thank.

As an added benefit, the endowment's spending policy allows the asset value, and thus the annual income, to grow to offset inflation. Because of this increase, you can actually increase your gifts over time. Endowing your annual gift could be one of the most lasting and impactful decisions you make in your lifetime.
