Smiling woman sitting at desk with flowersExperts at the HOPE (Hope Offered and Provided by Employees of Concord Hospital) Resource Center offer guidance, information and support programs for people affected by cancer — most at no charge. Supportive services are available through our Payson Center for Cancer Care, as well as through community partners and resources.

Services coordinated by the HOPE Resource Center include:

  • Complementary therapies for stress reduction;
    • A range of complementary therapies including exercise, yoga, hypnotherapy, meditation, Reiki and acupuncture.
  • Financial counseling to assist with financial concerns;
    • Financial counselors meet with patients to discuss their financial situation and help them understand the terms and conditions of their insurance coverage for cancer treatment, as well as help them financial assistance resources.
  • Nutrition counseling to address special dietary needs;
    • A registered oncology dietitian is available to discuss patients’ dietary needs, evaluate and monitor nutritional status, and help them deal with side effects of treatment.
  • Social services to sort through the cancer experience;
    • A dedicated oncology social worker helps patients and their families sort through the cancer experience and connects them to applicable resources, including transportation for patients needing help getting to and from treatment.
  • Spiritual care to help cope with cancer diagnosis;
    • Spiritual care counselors help patients and families cope with the impact of a cancer diagnosis.
  • Educational programs, classes and support;
    • Support groups and educational programs provide a comfortable, safe environment to share feelings and thoughts on cancer-related issues. Participants can get useful information about community services, share tips on coping skills and find new ways to deal with stress.
  • Lifestyle transformation program for people diagnosed with cancer.
  • Our Payson Center for Cancer Care's Anticancer Lifestyle Program helps cancer patients understand what their lifestyle changes should be, how to make them and why they are so important.
The Concord Hospital Trust's Gene Gillis and Lend Me a Hand Funds support programs and services available through the HOPE Resource Center.

Rock 'N Race event proceeds are directed toward support programs and services and financial assistance for cancer patients in need through the HOPE Resource Center.

    If you have head, neck or oral cancer this group offers the chance to learn coping skills from our Payson Center for Cancer Care's Head and Neck Nurse Navigator.

    Do you know children ages 6-12 whose parents or grandparents have cancer? Art with Heart is an expressive art support group designed for them.
