A multidisciplinary approach to diagnosing, treating and managing your bladder, prostate, kidney or testicular cancer is what you can count on when you're a patient of the Center for Urologic Care's Prostate and Urologic Cancer Program. The Program is in partnership with the Payson Center for Cancer Care and features high-definition, robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgical technology; dedicated and experienced radiation and medical oncologists; clinical research trials and expansive support services; as well as multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patients recently diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Diagnosis

  • MRI/ultrasound fusion biopsy, which fuses pre-biopsy MR images of the prostate with ultrasound-guided biopsy images in real time, for excellent delineation of the prostate and suspicious lesions

Fusion Biopsy for Detecting Prostate Cancer

If your doctor suspects you have prostate cancer a new technique that more accurately diagnoses prostate cancer, is available at Concord Hospital Center for Urologic Care. The new technology, Fusion Biopsy, fuses, or matches, ultrasound imaging and Magnetic Resonance Imaging to provide a vivid ‘live’ view of potential tumors, enabling doctors to precisely target biopsies — increasing the rate of finding significant cancers by 30 percent.
