As an orthopaedic trauma surgeon at Concord Orthopaedics, Dr. Duffy cares for patients with broken bones, including urgent cases involving multiple injuries and serious fractures to the extremities, complex pelvic fractures or patients with previous fractures that haven’t healed correctly. “Trauma care takes a team, a system, so the focus is on developing the system that functions at a high level for everybody,”he said. Concord Hospital patients benefit from a strong collaboration with Concord Orthopaedics and their surgeons, including fellow orthopaedic trauma surgeon Dr. Sean Burns and now-retired Dr. Gary Jones. “It’s nice to come into a place that has an established model and help add to that,”he said. Dr. Duffy arrived in Concord in late summer, after working at hospitals inVermont, San Francisco and NewYork City. He said one aspect that helps set Concord Hospital’sTrauma Program apart is providing a high level of treatment in a small community. “Everyone has a lot of pride in their work, pride in the Hospital and in the care we provide,” he said.“It makes a big difference in patient and physician satisfaction, resulting in better outcomes overall.” Concord Hospital gained two Dr. Duffys at the same time. When Dr. Ryan Duffy joined Concord Orthopaedics, his wife, vascular surgeon Dr. Reshma Patel Duffy, joined CHMG Concord Surgical Associates. “Everyonehasalotofpridein theirwork, prideintheHospital andinthecareweprovide.” ~Dr.RyanDuffy,OrthopaedicTraumaSurgeon,ConcordOrthopaedics
