This class is specifically for patients of our Concord Hospital MS Specialty Care Program (Dr. Ann Cabot, Dr. Pooja Raibagkar, Brant Oliver, and Georgia Plamondon) who have a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. It is offered at no cost as funding is provided through a grant that Dr. Cabot has secured for her patient population. As part of the grant funding, we ask that class participants complete a questionnaire at the end of the program to share comments and feedback with the funding organization.

An introduction to the science of stress, how it eats away at our physical and mental wellbeing, and the skillful use of mindfulness tools to detoxify stress in our daily lives. This program draws deeply from the traditional Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MSBR) Program and is taught by two certified MBSR instructors.

Woman meditating at laptopMindfulness is non-judgmental awareness of what is actually happening, in the here and the now. It allows clear thinking in a calm, non-reactive way, opening the space for wise responding even under difficult circumstances. Mindfulness practices open the door into our naturally present deep resources of wisdom, compassion and healing. Integrating these practices into daily life enhances wellbeing and improves the quality of life.

This program is appropriate for those with little or no experience with meditation or mindfulness, and can also be enjoyed by those wishing to strengthen their practice, those who wish to revitalize their practice, including those who have already completed MBSR programs.
