Medical Student Rotations

NHDFMR has a strong commitment to medical student education and teaching. We are a core site for family medicine clerkships for Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. We also offer fourth-year electives for external students that intend to pursue family medicine training. Residents are actively engaged in medical student teaching in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Fourth-year students can choose between several options: ambulatory elective in Concord or Hillsboro, adult medicine sub-internship and maternal child health sub-internship. In addition to clinical activities, students attend morning reports and noon conferences.

Limited housing is available. It's conveniently located across the street from Concord Hospital and can accommodate two students per month.

For further information and availability, please contact Heidi Taranovich, Residency Coordinator at htaranov@crhc.org.

Ambulatory Clerkship

In this four-week rotation, students work on one of our clinical pods in Concord or at our rural site in Hillsboro. During this rotation, students generally spend eight to nine half-day sessions per week at the Family Health Center. The majority of clinical sessions are "typical" family medicine but students will also experience home visits, nursing home visits and morning rounds on our inpatient services.
