2016 Investment

Last year, the community benefit investment to support the Palliative Care and Hospice Program was $1,715,838.

The Capital Region Palliative Care and Hospice Program, led by medical director Dr. Stephen Rust, is collaboration between our Hospital and Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association.

Palliative care supports patients managing serious or life-threatening illnesses. It focuses on providing relief from symptoms and stresses associated with cancer, dementia, kidney or liver failure and congestive heart failure to improve quality of life.

In 2016, the program served 464 people at Concord Hospital, in area skilled nursing facilities, and outpatients at New Hampshire Oncology-Hematology, Concord Hospital Center for Urologic Care and Concord Hospital Medical Group, providing on average seven interactions per patient with a palliative care team member.
