Concord Hospital Trust Awards Nearly $80,000 Through Healthy Beginnings Endowment to Support Young Children and Families
CONCORD, NH – Marking its 29th anniversary, Concord Hospital Trust’s Healthy Beginnings Endowment has awarded nearly $80,000 in grants to seven nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting young children and families across the Greater Concord region.
Administered by Concord Hospital Trust (CH Trust), the Healthy Beginnings Endowment provides annual funding to programs, services, and initiatives that promote positive child development and parenting education.
“These grants reflect our long-standing commitment to investing in the health of families where it begins, during the earliest years of a child’s life,” said the Chair of the Healthy Beginnings Endowment Advisory Committee, Oglesby Young, MD. “By supporting trusted community partners, we help ensure that parents and caregivers have access to education, resources, and services that create a strong foundation for lifelong health.”
Since its establishment in 1996, the endowment has distributed more than $1.4 million to community-based organizations working to improve outcomes for children from birth through early childhood.
Following a competitive application process and recommendations from the Healthy Beginnings Endowment Advisory Committee, grants were awarded to:
- Archways – Family Support Services ($18,000) to support parenting education programs and essential operational activities;
- Back in the Saddle Equine Therapy Center – Project Connect ($5,000) to assist families participating in therapeutic programming that fosters parent-child connection and healthy development for children ages 2–5;
- Concord School District – The Family Center ($18,000) to sustain Family Center programming at three sites focused on parent education and play-based learning;
- Family Promise of Greater Concord – Partners in Progress Diversion Program ($5,691) to support families experiencing homelessness;
- Granite VNA – Baby’s First Homecoming ($15,000) to help mothers and infants safely transition from Concord Hospital to home;
- Grapevine Family and Community Resource Center (Antrim) ($8,000) to support family services in Hillsborough-Deering and surrounding communities;
- White Birch Community Center ($10,188) to provide year-round education for parents and caregivers of children from birth to age five.
“Each of these organizations is doing important work to strengthen families and support healthy childhood development,” Young added. “Together, they represent the collective impact philanthropy can have when it is rooted in community need and guided by trusted partnerships.”
