D’Amante Family Donates More Than 20 Giant Stuffed Animals to Concord Hospital Pediatrics

CONCORD, NH – Concord Hospital’s pediatric unit waiting room is once again filled with joy—and more than 20 oversized stuffed animals—thanks to a generous annual donation from the D’Amante family. The family has supported Concord Hospital services, such as the Payson Center for Cancer Care and The Family Place, for about 30 years. This beloved plush tradition brings delight to young patients who are invited to choose their own stuffed companion to snuggle with and then take home.

The tradition began when Cinda D’Amante visited the unit decades ago and decided to make a positive impact on hospitalized children during the holiday season.

“Cinda came up here one day to visit somebody, and she saw the kids right around Christmas, and there was nothing around to play with,” reminisced her husband, Raymond P. D’Amante, after setting up this year’s donation. “She came back and said, ‘We’re not decorating the office anymore, we’re spending the money on stuffed animals’. So we’ve been bringing them here ever since.”

Members of the D’Amante family select a wide assortment of giant plush animals—ranging from fantasy creatures to lifelike animals—ensuring that children of all ages find something special waiting for them.

“Every year is even better. The whole family comes together to make this happen. It’s been a true family affair for the past 30 years,” said Ray.

The toys are available to pediatric patients at Concord Hospital starting December 8, 2025, and will remain available while supplies last.
