New England Donor Services is recognizing Concord Hospital-Franklin (CHF) with the 2024 Outstanding Donor Hospital Award for exceeding performance metrics in advancing organ and tissue donation opportunities. Out of 106 hospitals across New England, Concord Hospital-Franklin joined only two others in receiving the prestigious award.

“Every day, patients across the Granite State desperately hope that an organ donor will finally offer them a second chance at life,” said Administrative Director of Nursing Operations, Melissa C. Golightly MSN, MHCDS, FACHE, who received the award on behalf of Concord Hospital-Franklin. “We at Concord Hospital-Franklin pride ourselves on saving and enhancing lives through organ donation, always thinking about the families who may not know us, but who are depending on us. We are honored to receive this award.”

More than 5,000 people are waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant in New England. Each donor has the potential to save up to eight lives through organ donation and enhance the quality of life for many more, restoring sight to two people through cornea donation and healing more than 75 people through tissue donation. By registering as an organ donor, individuals can help save lives and transform communities, offering hope to those in critical need.

New Hampshire residents can register as donors on their driver’s licenses, through the Apple iPhone health app, or on the National Donate Life Donor Registry at www.RegisterMe.org.
