Pelvic Medicine Program Fundraising Efforts
Concord Hospital Trust has organized several fundraising efforts to benefit the Center for Urologic Care’s groundbreaking Pelvic Medicine, Continence and Sexual Health Program.
In 2018, the Trust established a Women’s Giving Circle to support the Hospital’s healthcare mission by funding several important projects a year. The group of approximately 30 patients, donors and caregivers quickly zeroed in on the Pelvic Medicine Program as one of its first projects.
“A matching gift opportunity arose for the Pelvic Medicine Program, and, with the knowledge that our gifted funds would be doubled, we knew that the Women’s Giving Circle could quickly gain momentum, while our combined gifts would significantly benefit the Pelvic Medicine Program,” said Natalia Strong, a volunteer member of the Trust’s Board of Trustees and chair of its Philanthropy Committee. “As women, we find this program to be highly relatable and worth our investment.”
The Pelvic Medicine Program wins praise and gratitude because it engages expert providers in a team approach to complex medical issues often not recognized or addressed elsewhere — another factor that impressed the Women’s Giving Circle members.
“We have been treated to the eye-opening testimony of passionate and compassionate experienced doctors and nurses, and boldly outspoken, grateful patients describing their needs and success stories regarding women’s health issues within the Pelvic Medicine Program,” Strong said.
In 2018, the Pelvic Medicine Program also received proceeds from the first of two workshops on the art of floral arranging.
In addition, approximately 75 current and former Pelvic Medicine patients attended a panel discussion in June involving physicians and advanced providers from the program. It was designed as an educational session and a way to allow patients to tell their stories.
