For complex hysterectomies, myomectomies and other pelvic or gynecologic procedures, Concord Hospital offers an advanced, minimally
invasive surgical option with the da Vinci® Si HD (high-definition) Surgical System. The da Vinci® Si HD Surgical System allows physicians to perform more complex gynecological
surgeries for conditions such as uterine fibroids, endometriosis, gynecologic cancer, or vaginal vault prolapse.
This robotic-assisted technology is ideal for gynecologic surgery enabling the surgeon to access tightly confined pelvic spaces
while avoiding a large abdominal incision. This surgical approach enhances both the patient’s recovery experience and clinical
outcomes.
Potential patient benefits of the da Vinci Si HD Surgical System include:
- Less pain and blood loss;
- Fewer transfusions;
- Less risk of infection and scarring;
- Shorter hospital stay and recovery time;
Your doctor helps you decide if surgery using the da Vinci Si HD Surgical System is a viable surgical option for your condition.
Hysterectomy
The precision and dexterity afforded by the da Vinci Si HD Surgical System’s advanced instrumentation facilitates a minimally invasive
approach for conditions that require removal of the uterus such as uterine tumors or gynecologic cancers.
The da Vinci Si HD Surgical System provides the surgeon with superior surgical tools for dissecting and removing the uterus
laparoscopically as well as high-definition view of the pelvic anatomy. All of these advances allow the surgeon to work around delicate
structures in the pelvis reducing the potential for injury to them. Download a patient brochure for more information.
Myomectomy
Myomectomy is a uterine-preserving procedure for removing uterine fibroids. The da Vinci Si HD Surgical System offers physicians a new,
minimally invasive option for myomectomy, affording the patient the potential for future pregnancy and preservation of the uterus.
Sacrocolpopexy
Sacrocolpopexy is a procedure to surgically correct vaginal prolapse by using mesh to restore the vagina vault to its anatomical
position. This procedure can be combined with the hysterectomy to provide long-term support of the vagina. Read da Vinci patient experience stories for more information.
Paravaginal repair of cystocele
When the wall between the bladder and the vagina weakens, the bladder will sag into the vagina, which is identified as a cystocele or
paravaginal defect. Correcting this defect allows the bladder and the urethra to return to their normal position.
Uterine Suspension
Surgeons put the uterus back into its normal position by reattaching the pelvic ligaments to the lower part of the uterus to hold it
in place. Another option for surgeons is to use a special sling to support the position of the uterus.
Gynecological Surgery
The precision and dexterity afforded by the da Vinci Si HD Surgical System’s advanced instrumentation facilitates a minimally invasive
approach for treating a broad range of gynecological disorders:
- Blockage of the fallopian tubes;
- Tubal problems;
- Endometriosis;
- Removal of adhesions;
- Ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids.
