Electrophysiology

Doctor performing a cardiac ablationThe board-certified electrophysiologist on our medical staff, an arrhythmia specialist, treats patients with abnormal heart rhythms in our Interventional and Electrophysiology Cardiology Suite.

The Suite enhances our ability to treat abnormal heart rhythms, and open blockages by inserting small balloons or tube like-stents, as well as open blood vessel blockages outside the heart. It includes computerized three-dimensional mapping systems to assist ablation of complex arrhythmias. Inpatient telemetry care unit, as well as outpatient care and educational support of patients with pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators, suppport our goal of offering the latest cardiac treatment in our community.

Services and Procedures

•  Cardioversion;
•  Diagnostic electrophysiology studies;
•  Catheter ablation of arrhythmias;
•  Pacemaker and implantable cardioverter defibrillators and follow-up;
•  Resynchronization therapy for heart failure;
•  Transtelephonic arrhythmia monitoring.

Cardiologists can perform cardiac catheterization procedures in the Suite using an artery in the wrist rather than the groin. For the patient, this approach means fewer potential complications and less discomfort. The procedure also lessens the risk of bleeding and other complications.
