Concord Hospital and other community healthcare facilities sponsor a variety of support groups that are open to the public. Support groups provide a comfortable, safe environment where you can share your feelings and thoughts on a particular life experience.

AFFILIATED WITH CONCORD HOSPITAL

Quit Smoking Support Group

Held the second Monday of each month, 6:30–7:30 p.m., at the Center for Health Promotion, 279 Pleasant St., Concord. Free. Registration is required. Call the Center for Health Promotion 230-7300.

Diabetes Talk Group

A support group for people with diabetes. Third Tuesday of each month (except July and August), 7–8:30 p.m. Held in Concord Hospital conference room C. Contact Diabetes Self-Management at (603) 227-7101.

Family Support Group

Support and education for people with blood cancers and family members. Sponsored in collaboration with Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Meets the second Monday of the month from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Contact the Hope Resource Center at (603) 230-6031.

Staying Connected

Continuing support and education for women facing breast cancer. Timely topics related to treatment and survivorship. Meets the first Wednesday of the month from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Contact the Hope Resource Center at (603) 230-6031.

Capital Region Mothers of Multiples Support Group

A support group for mothers and expecting mothers of multiples in the Capital Region. The meetings provide the opportunity to meet other mothers and families, share experiences, and get support and advice. The group also holds special family events throughout the year. Living with Cancer

A safe environment for cancer patients and support person to explore the impact of cancer on their lives. Meets first and third Mondays of the month from 4:30–6:00 p.m. Call (603) 227-7000, ext. 3013. No charge.

A Woman's Journey: A Woman's Cancer Support Group

An education support group for women recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Meets Tuesday evenings January 2 - February 6 from 5:00–6:30 p.m. Call (603) 230-6031 or (603) 230-7266. No charge.

Man to Man

An education/support group in partnership with the American Cancer Society for men with prostate cancer and their partners. Meets second Wednesday of each month from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Call 230-6031 for more information.

Postpartum Depression Support Group (Mother-to Mother Support)

Includes mood, anxiety and thought disorders during pregnancy and the first year after giving birth. This ongoing group meets Tuesday mornings from 10:30 a.m.–Noon in The Family Place library. Babies are welcome and sessions are free. Topics include: anxiety, sadness, obsessive thinking, sleep issues, guilt, family dynamics, isolation, how to achieve balance in your new role. Transplant Support Group

Thyroid Cancer Support Group

Multiple Sclerosis Support Group

Restless Legs Support Group
