Annual Rock ’N Race Takes Over Downtown Concord and Exceeds Expectations!

The Merrimack County Savings Bank Rock ’N Race benefiting Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care took over downtown Concord on Thursday, May 21 with 6,200 registered participants. More than $400,000 was raised at this year’s event. Since the Rock ’N Race began in 2003, it has raised more than four million dollars to support Payson Center for Cancer Care patients.

All donations to the thirteenth annual Rock ’N Race 5K run/walk help ensure that Payson Center support services, programs and financial assistance are available to all in our community.

According to Rock ‘N Race Co-Chair Emeritus and Concord Hospital Trust Board Chair Claudia Walker, “This event is a wonderful celebration of community for a remarkable cause. Even though we were in the middle of our big dig, officials from the City of Concord, State of New Hampshire, and Severino Construction Company came together and said the Rock ‘N Race will go on and they made it happen. For that we are grateful.”

Along the race route, participants enjoyed snacks and cool beverages from one of the many event sponsors including New Hampshire Distributors; Courtyard by Marriott and Margaritas Mexican Restaurant. Race participants listened to live music courtesy of Pat and the Hats while enjoying a delicious post-race dinner donated by Alan’s of Boscawen, Inc.; O Steaks and Seafood; and Associated Grocers.
