Concord Hospital Named Blue Distinction Center of Excellence for Knee and Hip Replacement SM

Citing clinical expertise and quality of care, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in New Hampshire has designated Concord Hospital as a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement SurgerySM.

Blue Distinction Centers demonstrate an expertise and reliability in quality specialty care on a consistent basis, resulting in better overall outcomes for patients. This designation is based on rigorous, evidence-based selection criteria established in collaboration with expert physician and medical organization recommendations.

“We are extremely proud and honored to be recognized with this achievement,” said Dr. David Green, Concord Hospital chief medical officer. “The Orthopaedic Institute at Concord Hospital and the surgeons that staff it are committed to providing safe and effective care in a patient-centered setting. Our orthopaedic team continually engages in projects aimed at improving performance, enhancing quality and positively impacting the overall experience of our patients.”

Dr. Green added that the hospital is deeply committed to providing the most innovative and highly advanced treatments, in keeping with best practice models and the latest technologies, while standardizing our approach to care.

“This recognition is a true testament to the care provided at Concord Hospital,” said Richard P. Lafleur, M.D., F.A.C.P., Anthem’s medical director. “We are always working in partnership with all New Hampshire hospitals and physicians to help improve the quality of care delivered to our members. We’re pleased to share this designation with our members so that those whose benefits plans include coverage for these services have the information they need to make important health care decisions for themselves or their family members.”
