First-Year Residents, 2009-2012

Hilary Alvarez MD
Hilary will graduate from Mayo Medical School in May 2009. As an undergraduate, Hilary studied philosophy at Dartmouth College. Following college she enrolled in the post baccalaureate premedical program at Mount Holyoke College. Hilary is one of three residents in this class to be part of the Combined Family Medicine/Leadership Preventive Medicine Residency.

Jonathan Ballard MD
Jonathan will graduate from the University of Louisville in May 2009. He also received his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Louisville. Jonathan attended Cambridge University where he received a Master of Philosophy in Epidemiology. He is part of the Combined Family Medicine/Leadership Preventive Medicine Residency. In his free time, Jonathan is an avid soccer fan, player and referee.

Anne Barry DO
Anne will graduate from University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in June 2009. As an undergraduate, Anne studied biochemistry at Bates College and then pursued her Master’s degree in Clinical Leadership in Health Management at Union College. Anne is a New Hampshire native and enjoys quilting, reading, hiking and swimming.

Melissa Buddensee MD
Melissa is a 2009 graduate of the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She decided to split her fourth year of medical school to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail, which she and her husband successfully completed. She hopes to enjoy more trails in New Hampshire during her residency.

Alpana Chopra MD
Alpana is a graduate of Kasturba Medical College in India. She gained extensive clinical experience as a practicing physician in India for a number of years. When she moved to the United States, she completed externships in family medicine, geriatrics and internal medicine. Alpana is fluent in Hindi and enjoys traveling, painting, chess and badminton.

Shauna Guthrie MD
Shauna will graduate from Drexel University School of Medicine in May 2009. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Kansas. Shauna is one of the residents in the Combined Family Medicine/Leadership Preventive Medicine Residency. Shauna is fluent in American Sign Language and enjoys singing, swimming, live music and watching college basketball.

Rachel Hamilton DO
Rachel will graduate from University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in June 2009. She received her undergraduate degree in zoology from the University of New Hampshire. Rachel is a New Hampshire native who took a circuitous route to medicine having spent time sailing tall ships and working on commercial fishing boats. She enjoys sailing her small sailboat, singing and outdoor adventures.

Noushin Mansourian MD
Noushin is a graduate of Ruhr-Universitat Bochum in Germany. Upon graduation from medical school, Noushin trained as a geriatric resident before moving to the United States. Through a six-month family medicine externship, she further developed her clinical skills and developed a better understanding of health care management in the United States. Noushin is fluent in Farsi, German and Turkish and enjoys weaving Persian rugs, classical music and opera and jewelry design.

Second-Year Residents, 2008-2011

Michelle Currier JD, DO
Michelle graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology and history from Tufts University, then earned her JD degree from Boston University School of Law. Following law school, she practiced law in New Hampshire for three years before attending medical school. As a New Hampshire native, she is happy to be back in the Granite State to be near her family and to complete residency. Michelle is married to Rory Richardson, who is a PGY2. Michelle is interested in women's and children's issues, holistic health, and environmental concerns; and enjoys spending time with family, outdoor activities, reading, and classical music.

Aram Davtyan MD
Aram attended medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico and then completed New York Medical College’s Fifth Pathway Program. Upon completion of the Fifth Pathway, he entered a family medicine residency in Wisconsin. He completed one year of residency training and for personal reasons decided to change programs. Aram is fluent in Armenian, Russian and Spanish and enjoys playing the piano and composing music.

Patrick Fox MD
Patrick graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2008. As an undergraduate, Patrick studied nutrition and zoology at the University of Florida and later received a Master’s degree in nutrition from Boston University. Following graduate school he taught math and science to middle and high school students in Virginia Beach. In his spare time, Patrick enjoys hiking, camping, snowshoeing and football.

Vandana Goel MD
Vandana graduated from Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences in India in 2003. In 2006, she completed seven months of a pediatrics residency at Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, NY. She now looks forward to pursuing family medicine training in a smaller program with more structured teaching and faculty interaction. Vandana enjoys badminton, running, kayaking and is learning kung fu.

Ashley Meek MD
Ashley graduated from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in 2008. As an undergraduate, Ashley received her degree from the University of Virginia in chemistry and biology. Ashley has worked with autistic children, as well as for a medical group in both the business office and as a medical assistant. She is an avid hiker and has hiked the Appalachian Trail; she also enjoys scuba diving, road biking and international travel.

Lara Moody MD
Lara graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2008. She attended the University of Charleston where she received her degree in chemistry and Spanish. Prior to medical school, she worked as a nuclear chemist, a nurse assistant and manager for the American Cancer Society. She is fluent in Spanish and her interests include photography, reading novels, gardening and travel.

Ayobami Ojutalayo MD
Ayo graduated from Ross University in 2007. He attended Montclair State University and received his degree in biology. Prior to medical school, Ayo worked for several years caring for patients with mental development disabilities. In his free time, Ayo plays soccer and loves watching movies.

Baby Min Than MD
Baby is from Myanmar where she graduated from the Institute of Medicine I in 2002. Before starting residency, Baby participated in a 12-week externship program sponsored by the Oklahoma State Medical Association and worked in two family practice clinics. She enjoys cooking, reading, traveling and biking.

Third-Year Residents, 2007-2010

Christopher Allen MD
Chris graduated from Dartmouth Medical School in 2007. He attended University of New Hampshire and received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. Having grown up in Franklin, NH, he is excited to remain in NH for residency training. Chris is also part of the combined family medicine/preventive medicine program. In his free time he likes to run, play tennis and is an avid Nordic skier.

Mary Cullen DO
Mary graduated from University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007. Mary also completed her undergraduate degree in medical biology at the University of New England. She is a native of Litchfield, NH and is excited to return to New Hampshire for residency training. In her spare time, Mary enjoys singing, traveling, crocheting and reading.

Jennifer Hendricks DO
Jen graduated from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007. As an undergraduate, she attended The Ohio State University and graduated with a degree in psychology. She enjoys traveling and experimenting with new recipes.

Jennifer Holzinger DO
Jennifer is another graduate from University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Jennifer grew up in Claremont, NH and attended University of New Hampshire where she received a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science. She enjoys skiing, boating, photography and gardening.

Jacki Morse MD
Jacki graduated from University of Texas Southwestern in 2007. She received her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from University of Illinois. She plans to pursue the combined family practice/preventive medicine residency. Jacki enjoys roller blading, dancing, and traveling with friends and family.

Rory Richardson MD
Rory graduated from Jefferson Medical College in 2007 and entered Lahey Hospital’s internal medicine residency. He soon realized that he missed the continuity of care that family medicine offers. Rory completed his PGY1 year at Lahey and then transferred into our program. He received his undergraduate degree in government from University of Notre Dame. Following graduation from Notre Dame, Rory served in the United States Marine Corps for eight years. Rory is married to Michelle Currier, who is a PGY1 and enjoys spending time with his family, hiking and whitewater rafting.

Kimberly Stump MD
Kim graduated from the University of Texas at Southwestern in 2006. As an undergraduate, Kim attended Texas A&M University and received a bachelor’s degree in genetics. Following medical school, Kim had the opportunity to work on Capitol Hill as a healthcare fellow for a Texas congressman. She has also completed a Masters degree in Health Policy, Planning & Finance through the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Kim loves singing, hiking, biking and traveling.

Julius Tabe MD
Julius is a 2000 graduate of Universite de Yaoude, which is in Cameroon. Julius worked as a family physician in Cameroon for his mandatory internship year and gained invaluable experience. He enjoys spending time with his family.

Andrew Valeras DO
Andy graduated in 2007 from Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. As an undergraduate, he attended Boston College and graduated with a degree in biology. Before medical school, he worked as a research assistant for two years. Andrew is another New Hampshire native who is excited to be returning for residency training. He enjoys many outdoor activities, as well as finished carpentry and woodworking.
