Pharmacy Residency Program

We offer a post graduate year one residency (PGY-1), accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), to two qualified pharmacists each year. Through our Pharmacy Residency Program you acquire the knowledge and skills to practice as an independent clinical pharmacist in an acute care environment, as well as prepare for a post graduate year two residency (PGY-2). As a pharmacy resident you perform functions of an acute care hospital pharmacist including: prospective review and processing of orders, clinical chart review, participation in patient centered rounds, provision of pharmacy service lines, as well as all aspects of medication distribution. Pharmacy service lines include anticoagulation, medication reconciliation, parenteral nutrition, and antibiotic stewardship.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Five to six years of formal training or education beyond the high school level (e.g., B.S in Pharmacy or PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
- Three to six months of hospital pharmacy experience preferred, including internship and clinical rotations.
Licensure & Certification
- NH pharmacist license or reciprocity within 90 days of hire

- Every other weekend, 7 am - 3:30 pm
- Every other Friday, 10 am - 6:30 pm
- One of the two residents will staff New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Compensation & Benefits
- Full time 40 hours/week
- Exempt status
- Weekend & holiday differential pay of $1.50
- Accrue up to 33 paid days (264 hours) over a 12-month period to use for holidays, short-term illness, family leave and vacations.
- Residents may use up to 10 days of vacation, sick days, family days and professional leave (i.e interviews and non-required conferences) during the residency year.
- Remaining earned time will be paid out to residents when they complete their residency year.
