Tactile experiences allow us to learn and relax through discovery. The benefits of being creative vary from improved immune health to decreased stress, anxiety and less depression. Plus using our hands to create activates the whole brain is lots of fun and counts as mindful meditation.
Felting is a very tactile experience. The process is easy and allows for comfortable, natural conversation and friendship building. In this workshop, we will felt a spiral bead and experience firsthand the calming craft of working with fiber. Be creative, express yourself, learn a new skill and in the process produce a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art! Students should bring to class: an old towel, a bar of soap like Ivory or glycerin, and a desire to have fun!
