Concord Hospital and other community healthcare facilities sponsor a variety of support groups that are open to the public. Support groups and educational programs provide a comfortable, safe environment to share feelings, thoughts and life experiences with people living with similar illnesses or conditions.
A free education presentation and conversation on diabetes self-management and lifestyle strategies led by Kirk Kenyon, a member of the A1C Champions® Program, which provides a patient-led approach to diabetes education.
Kirk was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 1987 when he was 43 and is an advocate for teaching self-management of the disease. He will share his personal experience with diabetes and discuss such topics as achieving good glucose control, developing a balanced, healthy lifestyle, overcoming fears surrounding diabetes and finding resources for diabetes support.
The presentation will be held at Concord Hospital in conference room B.
